Passion in Paradise

With its sweet fairy raindrops falling gently every now and then, May has thankfully ushered in a slight welcome respite to the steak sizzling, griiiiiiiilling city temperature. I call this divine "mercy " for Manila has become a broiling stew of life unbearable in more ways than the scorching heat. It seems the onslaught of summer rudely brought along decadent slices of everything unsavory, from news of ever increasing rice prices, food prices, petrol prices to the sight of the most unglamorous blabbering bickering politicians. Reminds me of squishy tadpoles....dunno' why.

As much as possible I avoid "watching" the news. Then again, I can't afford to be irresponsibly left ignorant so I precariously trudge through local and world affairs online hoping to read even a trickle of something - nice (???). Tough luck.

But the nature of this particular blog will sway side by side with the significant positive changes I am creating in my life. - My gosh'- somehow I feel like I've lost me the past months or so...the me who is always able to see so positively happily clearly into the future, and the me who can see magic even in the simplest of things....and I blame it all entirely on the news!!!

And as this blog blooms...so will my life. And for every post written is a plant potted or planted. Passion vis- a vis is what the rest of my year will be about. Grand :>

To date one of the positive changes I have somehow made is losing the weight that I have gained from the binging spree I have indulged in the months past. This is significant for me because the more pounds I put in, the harder it gets for me to breath. However, it wasn't "not eating" that did the trick; it was changing what I ate. I went semi - vegetarian.

Yay!!...Can't believe it myself! Course it's just semi. Maybe I'll slowly go all the way.

Yep, I radially shifted from my usual Asian diet of three full rice meals a day to a salad and pasta, and wheat bread fare. Plus, I have gorged in tons and tons and tons of Indian mangoes courtesy of my backyard tree. The best laxative believe me! Fish was part of the weekly menu too.

Oh' to be honest, I did sneak in a couple of fried chicken drumsticks a couple of times, but I made sure that I didn't eat rice with it. Add to this is oatmeal twice a day as well as soya milk twice a day. Coffee intake has been limited to about one cup a day.....sometimes none - replaced by heavenly herbal teas.

This is just the beginning.

Intuitively I know my body and how to give it what it needs. I am really thankful that at this age it gracefully considers my efforts and gently reminds me that we have such a far way to walk together in this life.

Funny but..somehow I see my body as part of me but not entirely...."me."

At times it is a separate entity......another being to cherish and care for....

Like a friend who is always there.

And since I am a..friend...I would like to humbly invite you to relax and take a peek at one of islands we have here in my home...
